Farewell Ceremony to be held December 26th, 2016 6:00PM-8:00PM
Dear Oakland Steiner School Community:
We are quickly approaching an important milestone in the reinvention of Waldorf Education in Oakland County, and we wanted to make sure you have latest information. In order to be financially responsible for our future, sadly, it is necessary for us to sell the property at South Boulevard and Livernois that we have all known for years as the Oakland Steiner School. We are currently working towards selling the property, and will announce more when that is appropriate. As such, we, as a community, need to emotionally prepare for this change. So we will hold a Farewell Event on Monday, December 26th at 6:00-8:00 PM at the Oakland Steiner School to commemorate this passage with love and best wishes. Please see the school Official Facebook Page for more information. And if you cannot be with us for this event, please consider posting your fond memories on our Memories Wall page. |

2016-12-23 Community Update
As we progress through the shutdown, we will keep the website, email system, and official Oakland Steiner Facebook page running indefinitely.
We also recognize that you may have questions or may need to get in communication with us. We ask that you direct your communications to the Board of Trustees at info@oaklandsteiner.org.
We also ask that you respect the legacy of our school and our community, in your speaking, your communications and your actions. It is not just the legacy of the Oakland Steiner School at stake, but also the future of Waldorf Education in Michigan as well.
We deeply appreciate and thank you for your commitment to Waldorf education. Every conversation and action has made, and continues to make, a difference for our children and our community.
The Board, Faculty, Staff, and Committees have worked diligently over the last six months, with limited resources, exploring numerous options and scenarios that would produce and sustain a viable Oakland Steiner School. The teams held themselves and the school to the ideals of Waldorf Education, but could not assure adequate funding and staffing to sustain ongoing operations.
In our hearts we hold the indomitable spirit of Waldorf Education. Our future as a Waldorf Community is yet to be created.
Respectfully,
2016 Board of Trustees
