Before School and After School Care

Picture

Eva Leventer is the director of our before and after school Enrichment Program. She is a State of Michigan certified art teacher and has worked with programs in Detroit and Ann Arbor bringing art to children ages five through eighteen. Eva has also offered camps for kids that integrated art, cooperative games, music and play. She attended the Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor for twelve years as a child; and is familiar with the Waldorf approach.

Our program provides a healthy rhythm with structured and free time.

The schedule is as follows
3:15-3:30 – Check in, snack, play, transition
3:30-4:30 – Activity 1 (outdoors, directed movement and games, sports)
4:30 – Snack, play, transition, dismissal
4:30-5:30 – Activity 2 (indoors, arts, play, study, choices)
                5:30-6:00 –Dismissal

There are activities the children will be participating in, so we ask that you pick up your child(ren) during the transition times, to maintain the flow of activities. We regularly bring in volunteer parents or staff to offer special activities. An activity schedule is posted for the following week outside the Enrichment Program room. This year, the Enrichment programs will be held in Fellowship Hall. You can contact me, through the school office or email at eval@oaklandsteiner.org.

Please plan your pick up around (near) the following times:
 3:15-3:30 PM             4:30 PM               5:30-6:30 PM

If your child requires regularly scheduled before school care and/or after  school care, please complete and return the form below to the office.  If you wish to have your child stay for after school care on a last-minute or occasional basis, please call the office to arrange this.  Students who are not picked up by the end of the dismissal time (3:10) will be taken to the after school Enrichment Program and families will be charged according to the hourly billing policy below. There will be a $20 fee if your child is in aftercare without a reservation. Please help us to plan for the needed after care personnel by making reservations.

Before care is available from 7:30 am until 8:30 am in Fellowship Hall for a flat rate of $6.00 per child. After the first child, the sibling rate $4.00/child.  You may not drop off your child before 7:30 am.   Children who are dropped at school before 8:25 am will be taken to the before school care Enrichment Program and the family will be charged accordingly.

Fees for after school care are $6.50/hr. For families, the sibling rate $4.00/hr. We encourage you to pick up your child(ren) at the scheduled activity Transition times. Late pick up (after 6:00 pm) will be charged $15 for every 15 minutes past 6:00 pm. Click HERE to download a pdf registration form for Before Care and After Care
