Parent and Child Class

Parent and Child Classes are a gateway to Waldorf education. The classes are for children up to age four years old and a parent, grandparent or caregiver.
A Wondrous Journey Begins
For close to a century, Waldorf schools around the globe have been working to nourish childhood.
In the Oakland Steiner Parent and Child program, opportunities abound for a child’s natural exploration of his or her surroundings in the presence of a parent, grandparent or caregiver.
Children will work side by side with the adult, under the guidance of our Waldorf teacher to make nutritious
snacks, paint, make simple crafts, learn songs, verses and stories, and to do everyday household tasks. These simple activities nurture a child’s sense of wonder, and imagination, providing a content and secure connection to the world in which they live.
The classes give families the opportunity to gain helpful insights into the developing child from a Waldorf perspective through the class discussion and handout materials and provide an introduction to life in a Waldorf preschool.
