Summer Camp

2009 Summer Camp at OSS was filled with lots of fun and adventure. There was music, felting, gardening and cooking, clay and more. All the children left each day with smiles on their faces. There were children from OSS families and from as far away as France joining us this past summer. This led to a multi-cultural and multi-language experience that was fun for all.

2010 promises to be another fun filled summer for children 3 to 6-years-old. In the Oakland Steiner Seeds & Sprouts program, children ages 3-6 experience a slower, simpler time like we had growing up. Here, opportunities abound for a child’s natural exploration of his or her surroundings. Their senses of wonder and imagination are stretched with well-spun fairytales, puppet plays and nature walks.

Children will work side by side with our trained Waldorf teachers to tend the garden, make nutritious snacks, paint and do everyday household chores. These simple rhythms give children a sense of contentment and connection to the world in which they live.

Week 1: June 28 – July 2

Week 2: July 5 – 9

Week 3: July 12 – 16

Week 4: July 19 – 23

Week 5: July 26 – 30

Week 6: Aug 2 – 6

Week 7: Aug 9 – 13

Time: 9:00a.m. – 1:00p.m.

Ages: Ages 3 through 6 (by June 1), and no children in diapers

Cost: $160/week per child. All supplies and a healthy midmorning snack are included in this fee. Children should bring their own lunches from home. A $40 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a space for the class. Full payment is due 1 week before start date.

Child/Staff Ratio: Children will be attended by a lead teacher and an assistant.

Confirmation: A confirmation email and an emergency form will be sent to you. The emergency card must be returned before the first day of camp.

Program Cancellation: Camp will be cancelled if enrollment is insufficient. You will be contacted by phone and receive a full refund by mail.
