First Grade Class Teacher 2015-2016
Oakland Steiner School is pleased to announce we are seeking a 1st Grade Class teacher for our growing, suburban school. The school is fully accredited by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America.
Our full grades curriculum includes German, Spanish, gardening, handwork, woodwork, music, Eurythmy blocks, movement & games as well as an educational support program. The school is committed to supporting our faculty through a strong mentoring and professional development program.
The grades class teacher is responsible for planning the daily, weekly and block rhythms of the year. These plans are developed in accordance with the principles of Waldorf pedagogy and in light of the needs of the class. The grades class teacher is also responsible for deepening his/her understanding of Anthroposophy, child development and seeking out new materials for his/her teaching.
The ideal candidate will have at least an undergraduate degree and completed Waldorf teacher certification and/or 3 years successful Waldorf teaching experience.
