OSS SKI CLUB

Picture
The OSS Ski Club at Pine Knob

The OSS ski club meets almost every Friday from now into March. We start about 4:00 and skiing goes until 11 (but the discounted lift tickets must be purchased by 7:30).  Come once, once-in-a-while, or every week. Rental equipment is available at discounted ski club rates also. Often kids carpool right after school and parents pack a picnic supper and join us later in the evening (they allow food brought from home). Hint: with the lessons included in the one-time club price, the short beginners usually do very well because of their low centers of gravity, have a great time in the fresh air, get great exercise, and can make it home by regular bedtime.  This is not an official school-sponsored event; it's a group mostly made up of members of the OSS community. Permission slips are required for any kids participating whose parents are not on-site.

Bring your friends. In addition to the extended OSS family including past families and alumni, our Ski Club is open to members' friends & family as well. We love to meet new folks, and we're a pretty lovable bunch ourselves.

The Details:

Who:       All Oakland Steiner students, alumni, family and friends are welcome to join!

Where:    Pine Knob Ski Resort in Clarkston 248/625-0800    www.skipineknob.com

We gather in the far lounge.  Go in the main doors, follow the ski club sign up the stairs to the end of the hallway, turn left and walk across the room toward the fireplace!  We are usually right in front of the fireplace.  Find me when you first arrive- I distribute the lift tickets, etc. and my line is much shorter.

When:     Friday nights starting at 4:00 pm till 11 pm! (Lift tickets are available for purchase 4:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.)
The general rule is if Pine Knob is open, we will be skiing!  They keep the trails snow-covered and groomed quite effectively even if it warms up as long as nighttime temps fall below freezing.  You can go to skipineknob.com to confirm they are open each Friday.

Costs:      One-time annual membership pass.......................................................................$ 19.00

(Student passes come with either two free ski lessons or one snowboarding lesson, so it is not necessary for a parent to join or ski in order for the student to participate in ski club)

Evening session lift ticket..................................................................................................... $ 19.00

Ski or Snowboard rental....................................................................................................... $ 19.00

Helmet rental...................................................................................................................... $ 10.00

To Join:   Simply come on up to Pine Knob on any Friday

Students that are arriving with other families must have a signed permission slip to participate!
Forms are downloadable from the links below.

Still have questions? Please feel free to call me!   My cell number is 248-933-7935!  Hope to see you there!

Please note that though this is a club of OSS family and friends, this is not an Oakland Steiner School-sponsored event.

Pine Knob allows our group to bring in our own food and drinks as long as they’re NOT commercially purchased (sorry, no Jimmy John’s or Thai takeout)!
