THE ENROLLMENT PROCESS

Enrollment inquires are referred to the Director of Admissions, Kira Wolf - 248-299-8755

A brief orientation to Waldorf Education and Oakland Steiner School is shared with the prospective parent. The parent may attend an Oakland Steiner School Introductory Tour or meet with the Enrollment Coordinator for an abbreviated tour, or have a meeting to discuss the school and the curriculum.

A prospective parent submits an application with student records and evaluative reports for review.

A Parent/Teacher Interview and student meeting is scheduled by the teacher.

A three day classroom visit with the prospective student is scheduled by the teacher. For summer applications a one day observation in the classroom is scheduled. An acceptance or non-acceptance decision follows the classroom visit. The decision is made by the teacher.

An acceptance or non-acceptance letter is sent to the parent. A tuition contract with a start date accompanies the acceptance letter. A deposit reserves a class space.

Applications for financial assistance are accepted after an acceptance decision.

In certain cases it may be appropriate to form an Enrollment Care Team as part of the enrollment process to review applications of students who come to us with prior behavioral, academic or physical issues. If a Care Team is formed, the Care Team is part of the acceptance or non acceptance decision.
